Turning Filament Into Freedom

When most people think of 3D printing, they picture colourful gifts, collectibles and unusual creations. At MOODLE Prints, those are all part of the fun—but the printers are also being used for something much bigger.

Through 3D Mobility, MOODLE Prints creates 3D printed Toddler Mobility Trainers or TMT's to help young children experience greater freedom, movement and independence.

More Than a Shop

MOODLE Prints began with a love of making, problem-solving and turning unusual ideas into something real. The same skills used to create personalised gifts and display pieces can also be applied to practical projects capable of making a genuine difference.

That is where 3D Mobility comes in.

Each mobility trainer is printed and assembled for a young child who needs it. The finished build provides a supportive way for them to move, explore and take part in everyday family life with greater independence.

More Than 100 Individual Parts

Although the finished trainer may look simple, every build involves an enormous amount of work behind the scenes.

A single TMT can require more than 100 individually printed components and hundreds of hours of printing, assembly, testing and refinement. Each part must be produced carefully before everything can be brought together into one complete build.

Every trainer costs approximately £392 to produce, but recipient families are not charged. Each completed TMT is donated entirely free of charge.

How MOODLE Prints Orders Help

Profits from MOODLE Prints product sales help fund the materials and components needed for future 3D Mobility builds.

That means every collectible, personalised gift and custom creation ordered through the shop contributes towards the bigger picture. One order might begin as something colourful or fun from the print bed, but together those purchases help turn filament into freedom for another child.

Customers are not simply supporting a small UK business. They are also helping the printers stay busy, the next build move forward and another mobility trainer get closer to completion.

The First of Many

The first completed mobility trainer has already been delivered to a little girl, marking an incredibly important milestone for the project. Work on the second trainer is now underway, with every print bringing it another step closer to completion.

The aim is to keep building, learning and improving so more TMT's can be created and donated in the future.

There is plenty more work ahead, but every build begins in exactly the same way: one idea, one spool of filament and the determination to create something that matters.

Thank you for supporting MOODLE Prints and helping us turn filament into freedom.
